How old's the human race?

hi does anyone know any good articles or videos about how old mankind and the earth are and carbon dating?

.

i've just started looking into it but there seems to be a lot of conflicting ideas over accuracy so i'm unsure what to think.

I don't know how people can cope with having more than 1 wife or husband, 1 is enough to keep happy and keep up with.

Look at how many wives and concubines Solomon had, there must have been a lot of children born from those unions.

Wasn't the life expectancy a lot lower back in those days compared to now.

The total population for any time period can only be a guess at best. Even now new hidden tribes are discovered every so often plus with the ever changing birth and death rate there are no reliable statistics for total worldwide population.

So really With all the fields of science and the differing theories out there and all this available research/ information, the wts are no more enlightened or led by holy spirit than my little finger is, because they pick and choose what suits their needs or wants and ignore facts that have been proven by science but contradicts the bible or what they want it to teach.

No wonder they have such a harsh punishment if you think differently to them and you're deemed an apostate coz they don't have a leg to stand on against "the real truth" but don't want to lose their control over people or lose their income.

Memorial.. To go or not to go

so, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.

haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .

we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.

As hard as it might be I wouldn't go. Arrange to do something and say you have plans already. You'll be back to square 1 in your fade otherwise and people from the hall will plague you for a while. Remember your mother is brainwashed and nothing is going to happen to you if you're no longer a jw. She'll get used to the idea that you've left if you stand your ground and it'll get easier for her with time. If you give in to her she'll play the emotional card to get you back to the meetings, assemblies or other things coz she'll know it works. That's just my view though, its your decision at the end of the day.

its been mentioned before---care homes.

in the uk there are a few ( no idea how many ) jireh care homes--loosely connected with the watchtower.. but take this on board.

the dubs are an ever aging customer base.. in the uk, lots of the ageing population end their years in privately run care homes.

Disfellowshipped/disassociated – How did your parents handle it?

to those who were disfellowshipped/disassociated – how did your still-in parents handle it?.

i don’t want to fade, so i am thinking about disassociating soon – i don’t care if i’m playing by the org’s rules, i just want out.. however, i am concerned about how my parents will react.

i don’t want them to become super depressed or whatever due to me leaving the org.. i don’t want them to be hurt by my decision to leave the org, but i feel like there is no way of avoiding this..

Unfortunately there's no easy way out of the organisation. They've made it that way to keep people trapped. You could feed them the odd question about some of the teachings before you leave without mentioning where you got them from. Jwfacts has great information to help with this. In time maybe those questions will make them have doubts themselves. Its not that long since I D'A myself and I feel so free and happy now and like a massive weight is off my shoulders. I wish you the best. You can not let the fear of hurting your family by you leaving the cult stop you living your life the way you want to. Live your life to the full, make new friends, have fun!

When You See A JW Approaching What Are Your Thoughts?

i used to get a weird feeling in my stomach when i would see a witness approaching.... almost a sense of dread.

now, i really don’t care.

i have even made it a point to do the approaching when i see a witness trying to convert an ignorant person..

My heart starts racing but i smile coz I'm happy not to be part of the cult anymore and want them to see you can be happy not being a jw. Wish i could go tell them to free themselves and enjoy what they have left of their lives.
